Homework

All Platanos College pupils are expected to undertake homework as part of their studies. Homework is set regularly.

Homework is important for a variety of reasons:

• It allows pupils to assess, reflect upon and consolidate work that has taken place in the context of a lesson.
• It encourages independent learning.
• It allows pupils to pursue their own interests and develop their abilities.
• It enables preparation of a range of activities which can be followed up in subsequent lessons.
• It provides a vehicle for teacher-pupil-parent interaction.

Homework is set by all subject departments and helps pupils to further their understanding.  Set work may be in different forms and may utilise different platforms to ensure effectiveness, such as Google Classroom and our other learning platforms.
